This team event opportunity has proved as a massively positive & progressive weekend for our top surfers & ‘up & coming’ groms.

From the road trip, the banter, the laughs, the encouragement & insights from seasoned salty comp-heads it’s all priceless…

The camaraderie is EPIC & strengthens our unity as a club hugely.

It’s an opportunity where our crew are not battling amongst each other but instead uniting with their arsenal of skills to boost each others performance and experience.

It’s about encouraging & congratulating our surfers win or ‘just missed out’ & offering the positives to better themselves has humans and competitors…what the OBC does has to be in the name of FUN..and all the other clubs know this!

Who else takes a boom box cranking down to the tag team arena?

Here’s to more goodtimes and progression as a club!

During late autumn the exterior of the club was prepped and painted, thanks to:

  • OBC sponsor Shaun Churchill Painters who painted the club at a heavily discounted rate.

  • Luke Florence Builders who donated time and resources to support any required painting prep work, including fixing areas of rot.

  • The NZ Community Trust for generously provided the funding to paint the club!

As the club is on the sea front and exposed to the elements, maintaining our building ensures it is enjoyed by future generations.

Before: The paintwork was a tad tired. There was also quite a bit of rust and concerns around rot in the windowsills.

During: Shaun and his team busy at work

After: So fresh and so clean.
